Installing Halo Combat Evolved PC

Overview

• This guide will provide the following:

Installing Halo CE (Combat Evolved) PC, and patching it to the latest update, and installing Chimera.

Getting The Game

• Get the game here.

• Get the torrent or the iso, you can mount the iso with windows explorer or a third party program.

• The following is a CD Key for running the setup file. You have to type this manually.

• Install the game in a convenient place (a folder, a drive where you generally store your games).

Applying the Patch

• Once you've successfully installed the game, we'll have to get the patch.

• The Patch Link is here.

• Put the .exe where halo.exe resides, should be in the root of the game folder.

• Run the .exe and it should be updating the game to the last update.

Getting Chimera

• Disclaimer: Make a backup of your strings.dll file, located in the root folder of the game. Renaming it to old-strings.dll works.

• Get Chimera here.

• Get the ZIP from the releases tab and open it with 7-Zip or WinRar, drap and drop the contents of the zip inside the game folder.
