Projects i worked on
Post #9 - Written by jobz in 2025/05/07

SO, let's talk about some projects I have worked on in the past

I love Source Engine games, like, REALLY LOVE them, I basically grew up with them throughout my entire life, and growing up with something means you start to know abotu it more in depth.

While growing up and messing around in Half-Life 2 and other games running on the engine I learnt how to map, make textures and so forth. I then tried diving into the coding part of the engine... let's just say it was too complicated, but I still made 3 projects!

Since i'm already writing up on Source Engine, let me introduce my first ever project which the only remaining things I have are the screenshots

Zombie Town v1.0

This project was the thing that started me on the entire modding premise, this was actually a different project before which was a sandbox mod, but I decided to turn it into some stupid zombie shooting game or something.

Here are 2 screenshots of the game itself, the first one is the earliest game screenshot ever taken by me and the last one is a desktop screenshot, you can tell that it's amateurish since it uses basic geometry and all that stuff.

The first ever screenshot created, even the title shows that it was a Sandbox mod before.

Hammer screenshot, yes, I used Windows 7 back then, I even used old steam during that time as well.

If you want to see more screenshots, you can go into the Media page to see more images of it, I also have a single asset I still have of the game which is the preview of the first chapter.

The image is small to accomodate for the Source engine's way of placing images into chapters.

I think it's good that I moved on from that project, it was simple, yet dumb.

Gman's Nightmare

Gman's Nightmare was one of the second mods I have worked on, it was funny cause the game was set in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and you had to kill Kleiner to win, again, the project being too big was the main thing that led to the downfall of the project.

I actually have the build of this game, even the source code for it, the game build is gonna be available in Media once I upload it there. For now, here are some screenshots of it.

The bets part about it is that the mod actually had way more levels than the first mod, I took actual care to try and finish this mod, I still failed though. Since the build I have is probably broken, it looks like Half-Life 2 Beta... rofl

Engine_H & The Fire House

I'm still working on this mod actually, just not as frequently, this is basically the successor to GNightmare, but more as a joke mod rather than a full fledged mod. This was originally Zombie Town v2.0 and it still has some of the maps created by MelonHead8944, but unfortunately we had to wrap the work on it since, again, too much work and also busy with life.

The mod is suppose to replicate the way the old engine behaved in 2001 just for the sake of fun, but also because I wanted to get in deeper with the entire coding thing, however, I have a pea sized brain so I still haven't figured it out. I'll probably put different versions of this mod at some points as well as post some devlogs about it, so stay tuned for that I guess.

I wanted to show off some projects because most of them were pretty neat, but cause of my lousy ass I couldn't do much to finish them. Hopefully one day I can finish something. Also, I will probably get into Zombie Town v2.0 a bit further if I feel like it in the next post.
